WARNER-LAMBERT RELOCATES AND CONSOLIDATES TETRA DIVISION
MORRIS PLAINS, N.J., Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Tetra division of Warner-Lambert Company (NYSE: WLA) announced today that it will relocate to Blacksburg, Va. The Blacksburg facility, which is expected to open in the first quarter of 1993, will consolidate all U.S. operations. The announcement was made by Alan Mintz, U.S. general manager, Tetra and Congressman Rick Boucher, during a press conference at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Christiansburg, Va.
The company purchased, on July 10, an 81,260 square foot facility in the Blacksburg Industrial Park. Manufacturing, distribution and promotional services, currently operating in Pulaski County, Va., will move to the new location. Administrative services will also move from Morris Plains, N.J.
"Warner-Lambert was introduced to Southwest Virginia by Congressman Boucher through his 'Showcasing Southwest Virginia Program.' And we are honored to have him here with us today," Alan Mintz said.
The move to Blacksburg will create 10 new administrative jobs. In addition, 28 Tetra employees from three Virginia locations, and up to eight administrative employees from New Jersey, will be relocated to Blacksburg. The facility will eventually employ between 60-65 people.
"The consolidation allows us to manage the division in an exceptionally efficient manner, and fits with the corporation's strategic globalization objectives," Mintz explained.
Tetra is the world's leading manufacturer of quality products for home aquariums, outdoor fish ponds and terrariums.
Warner-Lambert is a world-wide company devoted to developing and marketing quality healthcare and consumer products. It employs approximately 34,000.
