WARNER BROS. WORLDWIDE RETAIL UNVEILS 1993 RETAIL CHAIN EXPANSION PLANS

 Warner Bros. Studio Stores Will Open 35 New Stores,
 Including Its International Debut in the United Kingdom
 BURBANK, Calif., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Riding the wave of the outstanding success of its 21 Studio Stores, Warner Bros. has announced that it will open 35 additional new stores, including a New York flagship store and its international debut in the United Kingdom. The announcement of the worldwide expansion and new locations was made today by Peter Starrett, president of Warner Bros. Worldwide Retail.
 The flagship Warner Bros. Studio Store will be located in one of the most prestigious locations in the world, the corner of 57th and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. It will also be the largest store to date, totaling 30,000 square feet, and featuring three levels of selling space. "We are very excited about the opportunity to showcase our flagship Warner Bros. Studio Store in one of the most prominent retail locations in the world," said Starrett, president, Warner Bros. Worldwide Retail.
 The domestic expansion will include 30 Warner Bros. Studio Store openings throughout the country beginning in April of 1993. Among those to open are: Water Tower Place in Chicago; South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif.; Stamford Town Center, Stamford, Conn.; Roosevelt Field in Garden City, N.Y.; and Prudential Center in Boston.
 The Warner Bros. Studio Stores will also make their international debut in 1993 in the United Kingdom, with five units to open this fall. "The Fifth Avenue opening sets the stage for our international expansion and further enhances Warner Bros.' worldwide image and brands," said Dan Romanelli, president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products.
 The Studio Stores are a unique combination of entertainment and retail merchandising that present exclusive Warner Bros. products to consumers in an exciting and informative environment, reminiscent of a Hollywood studio back lot. The exclusive product assortment appeals to people of all ages and includes adult and children's apparel, accessories, gifts and a special gallery section devoted to Animation Art. Each store is designed to reflect the glamour and excitement of Warner Bros., whose images and properties are among the most recognizable in the world, from Batman to Bugs Bunny to classic Hollywood stars.
 Warner Bros. Studio Stores are located in select shopping locations throughout the country. Since their initial openings in late 1991, they have exceeded projected sales by a wide margin, defying a national slump that has plagued the retail industry.
