 WARNER BROS. STARTS 'FALLING DOWN,' STARRING MICHAEL DOUGLAS,
 ROBERT DUVALL, DIRECTED BY JOEL SCHUMACHER
 BURBANK, Calif., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- "Falling Down," a contemporary drama starring Michael Douglas and Robert Duvall, is scheduled to begin production in March under the direction of Joel Schumacher. The film, written by Ebbe Roe Smith, will be presented by Warner Bros. in association with Le Studio Canal+, Regency Enterprises and Alcor Films, it was announced by Bruce Berman, Warner Bros. president of Worldwide Theatrical Production.
 "Falling Down," an Arnold Kopelson Production, will be produced by Kopelson, Herschel Weingrod and Timothy Harris and executive produced by Arnon Milchan. Dan Kolsrud will co-produce, and the score will be composed by Graeme Revell ("Dead Calm," "Until the End of the World"). Photography will take place in Los Angeles.
 Duvall will protray a Los Angeles cop who is about to take early retirement until he finds himself on the trail of a man, played by Douglas, whose escalating violence reflects a growing frustration with urban life.
 Douglas received the 1987 Academy Award for Best Actor for "Wall Street," and has starred in such films as "Romancing the Stone," "Jewel of the Nile," "A Chorus Line," "Fatal Attraction," "The War of the Roses," "Black Rain," "Shinning Through," and the upcomimg "Basic Instinct."
 Duvall, who received an Academy Award for his starring role in "Tender Mercies," made his film debut in "To Kill a Mockingbird." His other credits included "The Chase," "Bullitt," "True Grit," "The Rain People," "MASH," "The Godfather," "The Conversation," "The Godfather Part II," "The Seven Per Cent Solution," "Network," "The Eagle has Landed," "Apocalypse Now," "The Great Santini," "True Confessions," "The Natural," "Colors," "The Handmaid's Tale," "Days of Thunder" and the acclaimed television miniseries, "Lonesome Dove."
 Director Schumacher's credits include "St Elmo's Fire," "The Lost Boys," "Cousins," "Dying Young" and "Flatliners."
 Producer Kopelson received an Academy Award for producing "Platoon." Among his other productions are "Triumph of the Spirit," "Warlock," "Out for Justice" and "Fire Birds."
 Producers Weingrod and Harris have previously co-written "Cheaper to Keep Her," "Trading Places," "Brewster's Millions," "My Stepmother Is An Alien," "Paint It Black" and "Twins."
 Arnon Milchan is the chairman of the New Regency Pictures and has been responsible, as producer or executive producer, for such films as "JFK," "Memoirs of An Invisible Man," "The Mambo Kings," "Guilty By Suspicion," "Pretty Woman," "The War of the Roses" and "The Power of One."
