WARNER BROS. AND VIRGIN GAMES MARSHALL FORCES IN INTERACTIVE SOFTWARE PARTNERSHIP

Exclusive Video Game License Granted for Upcoming Warner Bros.
Theatrical `Demolition Man' Starring Sylvester Stallone
 and Wesley Snipes
BURBANK, Calif., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Virgin Games, a leading computer video game producer, have combined talents to develop an innovative interactive software program based on Warner Bros.' futuristic theatrical "Demolition Man," it was jointly announced by Dan Romanelli, president, Warner Bros. Worldwide Consumer Products and Martin Alper, president and chief executive officer of Virgin Games. "Demolition Man," a Silver Pictures production, is scheduled for release in fall of 1993.
The interactive software partnership will integrate Virgin's cutting-edge CD-ROM technology with footage shot on the movie's sets. The film's stars, Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes, will be filmed separately against a blue screen background. This special footage will be integrated into the game, resulting in a highly realistic interactive version of the movie.
According to Romanelli, "Virgin Games is an ideal partner for this venture. Our work together began before this script was even finalized, to achieve the effective merger of the filmed entertainment of Warner Bros. and the interactive entertainment capabilities of Virgin. By combining proprietary technology with strong involvement in the actual film production process, Warner Bros. and Virgin will propel `Demolition Man' video games to their next level of sophistication and cinematic realism."
Alper added, "This level of collaboration between a major studio and a game company is unique and, no doubt, will become a benchmark for future projects of this nature. Warner Bros. has demonstrated a commitment to interactive entertainment that will firmly position it as a leader in this exciting and emerging industry."
The "Demolition Man" game will be released initially on CD-ROM for the technologically advanced 3DO system. Virgin will publish versions for Sega, Nintendo, and IBM shortly thereafter.
