WARD NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS FOR
SHELL'S WASHINGTON OFFICE
HOUSTON, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Shell Oil Company announced today the appointment of Steven E. Ward as vice president, government affairs for Shell's Washington office.
Ward comes to Shell from the Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association in Washington, where he has been a vice president since 1984. Prior to joining Mid-Continent, he served on the staff of Sen. Lloyd Bentsen (D-Texas) from 1977.
From 1975 to 1977, Ward was special assistant to Hon. William Broomfield, ranking Republican member of the House Foreign Relations Committee. From 1966 to 1975, he was a foreign service officer for the U.S. Department of State, serving in Syria, Turkey, Lebanon and Jerusalem.
Ward is a cum laude graduate of Amherst College in Amherst, Mass., and earned his master's degree in international relations at Columbia University.
