WARD'S REPORTS ESTIMATED PRODUCTION

 DETROIT, March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. car and truck assemblers will build an estimated 218,383 vehicles this week, according to Ward's Automotive Reports.
 This week's scheduled output is slightly below last week's revised U.S. car/truck build of 224,685, but 13.0 percent above year-ago's low count of 193,219, Ward's said.
 Additionally, Ward's announced that five regularly active U.S. vehicle assembly facilities are closed this week to control dealer inventories.
 Calendar-year 1993 U.S. vehicle assemblies through the end of this week stands at an estimated 1,918,269, 19.1 percent ahead of like-1992, Ward's said.
 Of the cars and trucks slated for production this week in the United States, General Motors Corp. accounts for 37.5 percent; Ford Motor Co., 29.5 percent; Chrysler Corp., 14.0 percent; Nissan Motor Mfg. Corp., 3.8 percent; Honda of America Mfg. Inc., 3.6 percent; New United Motor Mfg.Inc., 2.9 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. USA, Inc., 2.3 percent; AutoAlliance International Inc., 2.2 percent; Diamond-Star Motors Corp., 1.2 percent; Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 1.2 percent; Navistar International Transportation Corp., 0.7 percent; and other truck manufacturers, 1.1 percent.
