WARD'S REPORTS ESTIMATED PRODUCTION

 DETROIT, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. car and truck manufacturers will produce an estimated 217,233 vehicles this week, announced Ward's Automotive Reports.
 This week's scheduled output represents a 24.3-percent increase from the prior week's build, and is 38.9 percent higher than same-week 1992's total of 156,432, Ward's said.
 Additionally, the weekly newsletter reported that five regularly active U.S. vehicle assembly facilities are closed this week, most for inventory control.
 Calendar-year 1993 U.S. car and truck production through the end of this week stands at an estimated 392,013, 24.7 percent ahead of like- 1992's 314,484, Ward's said.
 Of the cars slated for production this week in the United States, General Motors Corp. accounts for 42.4 percent; Ford Motor Co., 19.0 percent; Chrysler Corp., 10.8 percent; Honda of America Mfg. Inc., 7.4 percent; Nissan Motor Mfg. Corp., 5.1 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. USA, Inc., 4.2 percent; AutoAlliance International Inc., 4.1 percent; New United Motor Mfg. Inc., 3.8 percent; Diamond-Star Motors Corp., 2.2 percent; and Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 1.0 percent.
