WARD'S REPORTS ESTIMATED PRODUCTION

 DETROIT, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. vehicle producers will build an estimated 173,561 cars and trucks this week, announced Ward's Automotive Reports.
 This week's scheduled output -- the first of 1993 -- represents a 46.6-percent increase from same-week 1992's total of 118,358, Ward's said.
 However, the weekly newsletter reported that five regularly active U.S. vehicle assembly facilities are closed this week, most for inventory control.
 Of the cars slated for production this week in the United States, General


Motors Corp. accounts for 43.5 percent; Ford Motor Co., 19.3 percent; Honda of America Mfg. Inc., 8.6 percent; Nissan Motor Mfg. Corp., 6.3 percent; AutoAlliance International Inc., 5.1 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. USA Inc., 5.1 percent; New United Motor Mfg. Inc., 4.7 percent; Chrysler Corp., 4.0 percent; Diamond-Star Motors Corp., 2.1 percent; and Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 1.3 percent.
