 WARD'S REPORTS ESTIMATED PRODUCTION
 DETROIT, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Ward's Automotive Reports announced


today that U.S. vehicle manufacturers will build an estimated 229,890 cars and trucks this week.
 This week's scheduled output is 3.3 percent higher than last week's actual build of 222,548 vehicles -- the highest weekly tally so far this year -- and 10.7 percent above same-week 1991's count of 207,588, Ward's said.
 All of the regularly active U.S. light-vehicle plants are operating this week, added Ward's.
 Calendar year 1992 U.S. output through the end of this week stands at an estimated 3,646,961, 12.6 percent above like-1991, reported Ward's.
 Of the cars slated for production this week in the United States, General Motors Corp.'s share is 45.4 percent; Ford Motor Co., 24.5 percent; Chrysler Corp., 8.8 percent; Honda of America Mfg. Inc.,7.3 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. USA Inc., 4.1 percent; New United Motor Mfg. Inc., 2.9 percent; Diamond-Star Motors Corp., 2.4 percent; Mazda Motor Mfg. (USA) Corp., 2.0 percent; Nissan Motor Mfg. Corp., 1.7 percent; and Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 0.9 percent.
