WAR EAGLE MINING COMPANY INC., GREAT WESTERN GOLD CORP. CANDLE LAKE JOINT VENTURE

 VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Candle Lake Joint Venture has drilled into a kimberlite pipe at 380 feet and is still in kimberlite at 730 feet. The hole was terminated as sufficient kimberlite was recovered for complete analysis. Based on the ground magnetic survey, the pipe is circular with a diameter of 1,650 feet.
 War Eagle Mining Company Inc., the Joint Venture operator, reports that the first two diamond drill holes of a planned 10 hole program have been completed with the third hole currently drilling. Samples from the first two holes have been sent for analysis.
 War Eagle Mining Company Inc. and Great Western Gold Corp. have an equal interest in the Candle Lake Joint Venture. The Joint Venture currently holds 148 properties totaling approximately 260,000 acres. At this time, 90 magnetic anomalies have been identified as possible drill targets.
