WANG ELECTS JOHN J. CULLINANE TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS LOWELL, Mass., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Wang Laboratories, Inc.
(AMEX: WAN) today announced that John J. Cullinane has been elected a director of the company. Cullinane is president of the Cullinane Group, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in the strategic use of information systems. He was the founder of Cullinet Software, Inc., which, until acquired by Computer Associates International in 1989, was one of the world's leading developers of database software for mainframe computers.
Richard W. Miller, chairman and chief executive officer of Wang, said, "John Cullinane's vast experience in the computer and software industries adds enormous strength to Wang's board. His achievements as an entrepreneur and his pioneering work in the development and marketing of software have earned him the respect of both our industry and the broader community. Cullinane was founding chairman of the board of directors of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation and the Massachusetts Computer Software Council. He is also a member of the board of directors of Essex Investment Management Company, Inc., Sentry Publishing Company, Inc., and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Inc. In 1982, 1984, and 1985, Cullinane was named as The Wall Street Transcript's CEO of the Year in the computer software products industry. Cullinane has been inducted into the Babson College Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs. Most recently, Cullinane was inducted into INFOMART's Information Processing Hall of Fame.
