WANADOO TAKES OVER MYWEB RETAIL GROUP.

Wanadoo, the Internet subsidiary of France Telecom, has finalised with Macintosh Retail Group the take-over of Internet service provider MyWeb BV by EuroNet Internet, its 100% owned Dutch subsidiary, Wannadoo has announced. With this acquisition, the total value of which has not been revealed, Wanadoo becomes one of the three main Internet access providers in the Netherlands. Its client base will approach 500,000 clients (including MyWeb's 110,000 subscribers), the French company added. Macintosh Retail Group decided to sell MyWeb, the Dutch Internet access provider with 340,000 subscribers, "because of the evolution of the Internet market". Wanadoo said that revenues from the sale would "partially compensate for investments relative to MyWeb made in 2001, translating into an accounting profit for Macintosh Retail Group in 2002"...JJ:(PhD/AFP)
