WALES: Lecture on nursing.

A TALK by Dr Eric Gruber von Arni on Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps will take place at Powysland Museum.

The free event will be held on September 11 at 7.30pm. It is part of the museum's exhibition Alexandra, Princess and Queen.

One of Alexandra's main interests was the care of wounded soldiers and the welfare of fighting servicemen.

In 1902 Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service was established.

Colonel Eric Gruber von Arni served as a nursing officer in the Army from 1965-96 He will be talking about the role played by Queen Alexandra in developing and improving standards of nursing in the armed forces.

Wine and snacks will be available at the event.
