WALES: EU grant to extend advisory service.

WREXHAM Library's Europe Direct service will run for at least another four years thanks to a EUR25,000 grant from the European Commission.

Europe Direct is a general information service, providing information on matters related to Europe and the European Union.

The funding from the European Commission ensures the impartial information service will continue to run until March 2013.

Europe Direct provides information on subjects including how to obtain a residence permit, how to get qualifications recognised, travelling, studying or working in other EU countries.

Karen Morrisroe, Europe Direct manager, said: "Wrexham has strong European links and diverse culture."

She added: "The grant from the European Comission means we can continue to provide an innovative and interesting service that reaches a wide variety of people."
