WALES: Appeal for witnesses after fatal collision.

A MOTORCYCLIST who died in a road accident in Cheshire on Friday is from North Wales, police revealed yesterday.

The man is aged 32 and from Deeside.

No further details have been released while police trace and inform his next of kin.

The accident happened when the rider's Triumph Daytona motorbike was in collision with a Citroen C3 car at Childer Thornton near Ellesmere Port on the A550 Welsh Road, at the junction with Heath Lane at 4.35pm.

The rider was declared dead at the scene.

A woman aged 63 driving the Citroen suffered serious injuries and is being treated in the Countess of Chester Hospital.

Cheshire Police have not named the woman but she is believed to be local.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact Sergeant Rachel Gallagher in the Western area special investigations unit on 01244 613168.
