Byline: By ROLAND HUGHES

A YOUNG primary school pupil's work is featuring on thousands of Christmas cards this year thanks to her local MP.

Angharad Davies, of Ysgol Hiraddug in Dyserth, was selected as having produced the best Christmas card in Vale of Clwyd MP Chris Ruane's constituency by a panel of judges.

Her design is on 4,500 Christmas cards distributed this winter to Mr Ruane's contacts.

Angharad won an award for her work, as well as a pounds 750 arts prize and a cup for her school.

She was handed her prize by former Bill and Eastenders star Chris Ellison, who is appearing in Aladdin at the Pavilion Theatre in Rhyl.

Runner-up was Emma Dyson of Ysgoly Llys, Prestatyn.

Mr Ruane said: "I would like to congratulate Angharad on her success as the judges said it was especially difficult this year to pick out a winner."
