    NEW YORK, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- WABC-TV is the leader in the February '92 ratings race, posting an 8.1 rating/19 share in Nielsen and a 7.8 rating/19 share in Arbitron, Sign-On to Sign-Off, Monday through Sunday.  WCBS-TV, with its Olympic telecasts included, delivers a 7.2 rating/17 share in Nielsen and a 6.9 rating/17 share in Arbitron, while WNBC-TV shows a 5.8 rating/14 share in Nielsen and a 6.0 rating/14 share in Arbitron.
    "Eyewitness News This Morning" continues to be the most viewed early morning local news program.  Anchored by Tim Fleischer and Art McFarland, "Eyewitness News This Morning" delivers a 2.5 rating/18 share in Nielsen and a 3.4 rating/23 share in Arbitron, clearly beating WNBC- TV's "Today New York-630A" (1.7 rating/13 share in Nielsen and 2.5 rating/17 share in Arbitron) and WNYW-TV's "GDNY 1st Edition" (2.1 rating/15 share in Nielsen and 1.9 rating/13 share in Arbitron.)
    "Live! with Regis & Kathie Lee" at 9 a.m. surpasses the combined deliveries of its competitors.  With its 6.8 rating/27 share in Nielsen and 7.3 rating/28 share in Arbitron, "Live" easily beats WCBS-TV's "Montel Williams" (2.8 rating/11 share in Nielsen and 2.7 rating/11 share in Arbitron) and WNBC-TV's "Best of Donahue" (2.4 rating/10 share in Nielsen and 3.0 rating/12 share in Arbitron.)
    At 10 a.m., "The Sally Jessy Raphael Show" builds upon the strength of its "Live" lead-in and win its time period with an 8.0 rating/30 share in Nielsen and an 8.8 rating/32 share in Arbitron.
    In early fringe, "Oprah Winfrey" leads with a 12.8 rating/30 share in Nielsen and an 11.9 rating/29 share in Arbitron.  On WCBS-TV, "Channel 2 News 1st Edition" at 4 p.m. posts a 2.4 rating/6 share in Nielsen and a 3.0 rating/8 share in Arbitron, while at 4:30 p.m., "Inside Edition" delivers a 2.9 rating/7 share in Nielsen and a 3.7 rating/9 share in Arbitron.  On WNBC-TV, "Donahue" delivers a 6.7 rating/16 share in Nielsen and a 6.4 rating/16 share in Arbitron, while at 3 p.m. "Maury Povich" achieves a 5.4 rating/15 share in Nielsen and a 5.5 rating/16 share in Arbitron.
    "Eyewitness News" remains the top rated newscast at 5 o'clock.  With anchors Greg Hurst and Roz Abrams, "Eyewitness News" delivers a 10.7 rating/23 share in Nielsen and a 12.3 rating/25 share in Arbitron, placing it far ahead of the competing newscasts on both WCBS-TV (5.4 rating/12 share in Nielsen and a 5.4 rating/11 share in Arbitron) and WNBC-TV (5.8 rating/12 share in Nielsen and 7.1 rating/15 share in Arbitron.)
    At 6 o'clock, "Eyewitness News" with Bill Beutel scores an equally impressive win with a 10.4 rating/20 share in Nielsen and an 11.9 rating/22 share in Arbitron.  WCBS-TV's "Channel 2 News" places third in Nielsen with a 5.6 rating/11 share behind WNBC-TV's 5.8 rating/11 share for "News 4 New York."  In Arbitron, WCBS-TV finishes second with a 7.1 rating/13 share, while WNBC-TV takes third place with a 7.0 rating/13 share.
    In the network news race at 6:30 p.m., tri-state area viewers overwhelmingly choose "ABC World News Tonight."  Anchored by Peter Jennings, this newscast is in first place with an 11.4 rating/21 share in Nielsen and a 13.1 rating/23 share in Arbitron, beating both competitors by wide margins.  "CBS Evening News" delivers a 5.3 rating/10 share in Nielsen and a 6.9 rating/12 share in Arbitron, while "NBC Nightly News" scores a 5.8 rating/11 share in Nielsen and a 6.8 rating/12 share in Arbitron.
    During the 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. news hour, WABC-TV is number one with a 10.9 rating/20 share in Nielsen and a 12.5 rating/23 share in Arbitron. This compares to WCBS-TV's 5.4 rating/10 share in Nielsen and 7.0 rating/13 share in Arbitron, and WNBC-TV's 5.8 rating/11 share in Nielsen and 6.9 rating/12 share in Arbitron.
    "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune" continue to be the most viewed programs in access, both winning their respective time periods by tremendous margins over "Hard Copy" and "Entertainment Tonight" on WCBS- TV and "Now It Can Be Told" and "Love Connection" on WNBC-TV.  In Nielsen, "Jeopardy" delivers an 18.5 rating/31 share, while "Wheel" posts a 17.6 rating/28 share.  In Arbitron, "Jeopardy" garners a 19.3 rating/32 share, while "Wheel" achieves a 17.0 rating/27 share.
    At 11 p.m., WABC-TV's "Eyewitness News" finishes the sweep with a 9.6 rating/18 share in Nielsen to WCBS-TV's 11.7 rating/22 share and WNBC-TV's 10.0 rating/19 share.  In Arbitron, "Eyewitness News" takes first place with a 10.8 rating/20 share.  WCBS-TV's "Ch. 2 News" follows with 10.7 rating/20 share while WNBC-TV posts a 10.1 rating/18 share.  A 10-day late news average excluding all stations' ratings on weeknights on which there were Olympic telecasts gives WABC-TV a 10.0 rating/19 share in Nielsen while WCBS-TV shows a 10.1 rating/19 share and WNBC-TV a 9.9 rating/18 share.  In Arbitron, WABC-TV leads with an 11.4 rating/21 share opposite WCBS-TV's 9.5 rating/17 share and WNBC-TV's 10.1 rating/19 share.
