W. ANN KING REYNOLDS, CHANCELLOR OF CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK, IS ELECTED DIRECTOR OF OWENS-CORNING

 TOLEDO, Ohio, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- W. Ann King Reynolds, Ph.D., chancellor of City University of New York, has been elected to the Owens- Corning (NYSE: OCF) board of directors, announced Glen Hiner, chairman and chief executive officer.
 "Dr. Reynolds brings an impressive portfolio of leadership experience to our board," said Hiner. "Additionally, her research and technical background provide us with another distinct perspective which will facilitate and enhance interpretation of business issues and opportunities."
 At the City University of New York, Reynolds provides executive leadership, oversees a budget of approximately $1.2 billion and coordinates the efforts of twenty-one college presidents. The academic institution is comprised of nine senior colleges, seven community colleges, a law school, a graduate school, a medical school, a school of criminal justice and a technical college. The university has an enrollment of 208,000 students and includes 32 Ph.D. programs.
 Reynolds has extensive research experience in developmental biology, fetal maturation and endocrinology. Reynolds has received support from the National Institutes of Health, and several industrial companies to fund her research.
 "Reynolds is an accomplished researcher, author and scientist as well as administrator," said Hiner. "The quality and quantity of her publications will attest to that."
 She currently holds memberships in the Society for Gynecological Investigation, the Perinatal Research Society and other scientific organizations. She is on the boards of the New York City Partnership, United Way and the American Board of Medical Specialties.
 Reynolds, 56, received a B.S. degree from Kansas State Teachers College in 1958 and her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from University of Iowa in 1960 and 1962.
