 W-L WINS PATENT INFRINGEMENT SUIT;
 SECOND POSITIVE OUTCOME FOR SCHICK'S LUBRICATING STRIP
 MORRIS PLAINS, N.J., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Warner-Lambert Company (NYSE: WLA) announced today that it has reached a settlement with American Safety Razor ("ASR") for its infringing use of its polyethylene oxide lubricating comfort strip (polyox).
 In a suit filed in January 1991, Warner-Lambert charged ASR with infringing its U.S. Patent No. 4170821. On April 14, 1992 a jury in the Federal Court of Wilmington, Del., returned a verdict in favor of Warner-Lambert. As part of a worldwide settlement of all claims and potential claims, including the Delaware verdict, Warner-Lambert will receive a cash settlement and ASR was granted a license under U.S. Patent No. 4170821. Morgan Morton, president Schick, said that "while the settlement is favorable and further confirms the validity and enforceability of this highly valuable patent, exact terms of the settlement will not be disclosed.
 "The judgment demonstrates that juries understand the value of scientific technology by maintaining and protecting the rights of patent holders, and we are pleased that the settlement demonstrates that ASR also recognizes our rights as patent holder," said Morton.
 This is the second suit in which Warner-Lambert has asserted infringement of its U.S. Patent No. 4170821. In 1989, the company settled, on very favorable terms, its suit against the Gillette Company for infringing this same technology.
 Warner-Lambert is a worldwide company devoted to developing, manufacturing and marketing quality health care and consumer products. It employs approximately 34,000 people.
