Vovida Networks Announces Expanded Suite of VoIP Software Products.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 27, 1999--

Vovida Networks, a global provider of communications software solutions, today announced its expanded suite of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) software products.

The software products scale from silicon to system and enable advanced telephony features, applications and services on packet-switched networks in broadband Internet access and server-based environments. The core VoIP software suite can reside in either a highly constrained, embedded chip set or on an industrial grade server.

Broadband Embedded VoIP Technology -- This product suite is structured so it can reside on both integrated circuit packs and chip sets and will facilitate new market opportunities for vendors working to deliver VoIP communications as a means of differentiating their product and service offerings.

By embedding advanced communications features onto circuit packs and chip sets, Vovida will enable new opportunities to bundle voice, video and data features together to more cost effectively meet customers' communication.

Vovida intends to offer a complete suite of VoIP software for products such as IP Phones, Cable Modems, xDSL Modems (Digital Subscriber Line), Next Generation Integrated Access Devices (NGIADs), WebTV(TM) devices and other set top boxes. These products will include core signaling, residential gateway and call agent functionality for enabling advanced VoIP at the individual device level.
