Vopak celebrates 10th anniversary.

Byline: Fujairah

Vopak Horizon Fujairah Limited celebrated its 10th anniversary in the presence of Crown Prince of Fujairah Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi.

Vopak donated Dh700,000 ($190,640) to the Fujairah community to mark the occasion. The amount will be spent on educational causes such as providing support to schools and learning institutes in Fujairah and the training and development of the Emirati workforce in the petroleum industry.

Vopak initially had a capacity of only 500,000 cbm. Today, it can offer customers about 1.5 million cbm of storage capacity. The terminal has developed over the years into one of the main bunkering centers in the world and as an important hub for the clean petroleum product and fuel oil trade in the Middle East, said an official spokesman.

Vopak has an excellent track record on safety and service and has recently obtained the ISO 14001 for environmental management.

"We are grateful to Supreme Council member and Ruler of Fujairah Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi and all authorities in Fujairah for the constant support to the company. As the leading tank terminal operator in Fujairah, we are dedicated to continue the growth of Fujairah as the strategic hub for bulk liquid products in the Middle East," said president of Vopak Oil EMEA and board member of Vopak Frank Erkelens.

"We thank all who have contributed to the success and growth of Vopak Horizon Fujairah Limited. The company has evolved into a name that is synonymous with the highest professional operations in bunkering and shipping in the region," said ENOC Group CEO and board member of Vopak Saeed Khoory.

"We can see this commitment to excellence everywhere across the company from management and human resources to infrastructure and processes. This success will always be regarded a milestone in the development of the UAE and the region's oil and shipping industry." - TradeArabia News Service
