Volunteers call to tidy beach.

WEST KIRBY beach is in line for a facelift.

Wildlife rangers, members of the community and Dee Estuary voluntary wardens are cleaning up the sands.

The Wirral beach won an award earlier this year from the Good Beach Guide for its high standard of bathing water.

It was also selected for the yellow and blue flag rural seaside awards 2004 for cleanliness.

The clean-up starts at 10. 30 am on Saturday, September 11, meeting at Dee Lane slipway, West Kirby.

Suitable clothing and footwear is recommended and a pair of gardening gloves. For further information ring 0151-678 5488.
