Voith Paper Inc.

Voith Paper Inc., Heidenheim, Germany, will reorganize operations at its Appleton, Wisconsin, USA, location, adjusting to current spending plans of the North American paper industry. Voith has decided to cease manufacturing Operations in Appleton, phasing them out by the end of the year. The Fiber Systems operation in Charlotte, North Carolina, will be moved to Appleton. Taunton, Massachusetts, operations will be reduced in scope, with part of the functions moving to Appleton.

At the same time, the company plans to strengthen all service-related functions; Appleton will become Voith's North American center for process know-how, spare parts, optimization services and small rebuilds. The sales and order processing functions for new paper machines, major rebuilds and fiber systems will continue to be located at Appleton. These changes will affect 190 positions, most of them in manufacturing and associated functions in Appleton.
