Voice of The People: Salute a real hero.

HERO is a much-used word these days.

Footballers who score match-winning goals are called heroes. As are pop stars and actors.

So it is humbling to come across someone whose actions truly are heroic.

Brave security guard Aiah Menjor is such a person.

He was on duty at the Iceland store in Brixton when the nail bomb was discovered.

Putting his own fear to one side Aiah spent 20 minutes ushering shoppers away.

And when the blast finally came he acted as a human shield.

His injuries were horrific. But thanks to his courage, lives were undoubtedly saved.

Aiah says simply he believed it was his duty to save the women and children around him.

What's more he'd do it again.

We salute you Aiah. You're a real hero.
