Vodafone named top for link-ups.

TELECOMS group Vodafone was the most successful operator at connecting mobile phone calls around Wales in a six-month period this year, according to a new survey by communications watchdog Oftel.

The survey showed that between April and September Vodafone connected and completed 95.4pc of its calls.

o2 was the next best, with 95.1pc, while Orange scored 95pc and T-Mobile 89.8pc. Calls were regarded as successful if held for two minutes.

The Welsh connection rates for all operators were lower than in all other regions of the UK.

Nationally, the percentages of calls connected and completed were Vodafone 98.3pc, Orange 97.8pc, O2 97.6pc and T-Mobile 96pc.
