Vobix Partnership with BluegrassNet Creates New Marketplace for Local ISP Provider; Vobix and BluegrassNet Deliver A Unique Combination of Managed Technology Tools.

Business Editors and High Tech Writers

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 17, 2001

Vobix Corporation, a managed application technology provider, and BluegrassNet (BGN), a leading provider of commercial and residential Internet services, are teaming to deliver e-mail services, Microsoft Office and other customized business applications from one direct source.

The partnership allows BluegrassNet to serve as an ASP by providing feature rich applications from the Vobix platform via Citrix technology or via the Web, while Vobix gains access to a robust delivery network and one of the largest commercial client bases in the region. Traditionally, ISPs would need numerous customers up front in order to realize a profit delivering applications, due in part to licensing and the cost associated with hosting the applications. But with the Vobix Managed Application Platform, BluegrassNet can deliver these applications with no financial risk, and continue to focus on its core competency of providing reliable high-speed access services.

Vobix Managed Application Platform director, Eric Paul, said, "BluegrassNet has a customer base they can sell to right now. We're basically giving this technology to them, because if they succeed with it, then we succeed." Dale Hamilton, VP of Marketing at BluegrassNet, said, "Adding value to our customer experience is always a priority at BluegrassNet. The Vobix Managed Application Platform delivers user options and choices designed for their convenience, efficiency and ease of use." Hamilton also added, "Upgrades to the newest software are usually very slow in coming because of the costs associated with software licensing, additional hardware, IT support staff and employee downtime. Including upgrades as part of a standard package eliminates barriers to the latest technology available." The platform works wonders in self-contained corporate environments as well, but its true value on the service provider market is that it allows ISPs to deliver applications while vastly simplifying the hosting and maintenance involved. The technology makes it so easy to deploy software applications that ISPs can quickly deliver applications on the platform in any volume, whether it is one customer or 1,000.

"We've built our business around the concept that getting the best technology doesn't have to be a lengthy, expensive proposition for any company or organization," said Vobix President and CEO, Tim Landgrave. "The Vobix Managed Application Platform makes it as easy as buying a CD or a book on-line, or ordering a pizza. Users can pretty much pick whatever they want."
