Vital Signs Announces Latex Free Solutions for Amerinet Members.

TOTOWA, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 1999--

VITAL SIGNS, INC. (NASDAQ: VITL) today announced the signing of a new agreement with Amerinet, the largest membership-based health care Group Purchasing Organization ("GPO") in the nation. The three year agreement is designed to offer Amerinet members consulting and latex free anesthesia devices from Vital Signs, Inc.

"With as many as 12% of anesthesia personnel exhibiting sensitivity to latex, we are anxious to help reduce this healthcare risk", stated Dan Reuvers, Vice President of Marketing and National Accounts for Vital Signs. "Our recent web based survey for anesthesiologists revealed that two-thirds confirmed that they were aware of a latex reactions within their own hospital in the last year and one-third envision an entirely latex free environment by 2002. With Amerinet's support, we believe that we can significantly impact the use of latex free devices within the anesthesia arena."
