Visitor society helpers wanted.

A PRISON visitor society is holding an open day in a bid to attract more people to become volunteers.

NEPACS, the North-east charity providing support for families of prisoners, is organising an open day at the Visitors' Centre, HMP Holme House, in Stockton, on Wednesday, January 21, from 5.30-8pm.

NEPACS and the Holme House Visitor Centre Society mainly rely on volunteers to staff their support services for those visiting a friend or relative in prison.

They are keen to ensure more people get involved in the rewarding work.

There are a range of volunteering opportunities at Holme House including the visitors' centre, tea bars and children's play areas.

The open day aims to give people an opportunity to find out more about the work of NEPACS and the Holme House Visitor Centre Society and meet staff and volunteers who give their time to the projects.

Everyone is welcome.
