Visiting ... Austin, Texas.

Home to the largest urban bat colony in the United States, in addition to some 750,000 "Austinites," including Willie Nelson, Lance Armstrong, Matthew McConaughey and Sandra Bullock, the capital city of Texas is diverse, eclectic and entertaining.

Numerous events are held within the city each year and since Austin dubs itself "The Live Music Capital of the World," it is no wonder many of these events, including Austin City Limits Music Festival and South by Southwest, are music oriented.

The city also boasts the nation's largest university-owned collection of fine arts at the University of Texas. For the classical dance enthusiast, Ballet Austin, the half-century old ballet company, performs a full schedule of original and adapted works year-round.

For the foodies, residents and tourists alike head to County Line on the Hill, a 25-year barbecue tradition whose numerous awards are well-earned. If it's fine dining you are looking for, Jeffrey's Restaurant and Bar offers guests a wide range of creative dishes.
