Visioneer Wins AIIM ``Best of Show'' Award Two Years in a Row with Xerox DocuMate Scanners.
The Xerox DocuMate(TM) 272 duplex scanner, unveiled at the AIIM trade show in mid-May, has been awarded the AIIM E-DOC Magazine 2005 "Best of Show Award" for "best workgroup scanner." Award winning products were specifically acknowledged for demonstrating creative use of technology, business value, and return on investment in enterprise content management solutions.
"The DocuMate 272 is one of the fastest and easiest to use duplex scanners in the workgroup marketplace for under $1,300," said Bryant Duhon, editor of AIIM E-DOC Magazine. "The separate paper paths for plastic ID cards and paper documents increase throughput and reliability of the scanner. Using a separate feeder for the cards and the paper delivers a more reliable scanner than trying to feed everything though the ADF. This scanner is built to last."
The DocuMate 272 is the third scanner in a row to win a prominent industry award. Its predecessor, the DocuMate 262, received the Editor's Choice Award from PC Magazine in March 2005. The DocuMate 252 won the Best of Show award in the desktop scanner category at AIIM 2004.
The Best of Show Awards recognizes the enterprise content management hardware and software technologies on exhibit at the AIIM 2005 Conference and Exhibition that demonstrate exceptional capabilities and quality and show evidence of significant ROI (Return on Investment) potential. A panel of 22 industry experts participated in evaluating products in 11 categories.
The Xerox DocuMate 272 is a duplex sheetfed scanner for workgroup and distributed scanning environments that need to scan plastic ID cards as well as mixed sized documents. The two-in-one office productivity tool scans documents up to 66 images per minute in duplex mode and can scan embossed or non-embossed plastic ID cards in less than 3 seconds.
The DocuMate 272 was designed specifically for desktop use in vertical markets, such as healthcare, insurance and security, where the need to quickly capture one or both sides of a plastic ID card is critical to the business requirements.
The scanner incorporates One Touch technology for eliminating multiple steps in sending scanned images to predetermined applications or devices and has the ability to automatically scan documents or ID cards into searchable PDF files.
Priced at $1,295, the DocuMate 272 is currently shipping in the United States through distributors such as Ingram Micro, Tech Data, NewWave, D&H, Wynit, solution providers and online retailers. For product support and more information on DocuMate scanners, visit www.xeroxscanners.com.
