Vision Source and OpenConnect Systems Sign Distribution Agreement; Vision Source to Expand Reach for OpenConnect Systems' Leading Terminal Emulation Products.

TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 1995--Vision Source, a leading worldwide distributor of connectivity, X-Windows and Unix-based software, today announced a distribution agreement with OpenConnect Systems Inc. (Dallas), the leading supplier of SNA and TCP/IP connectivity products. Under the agreement, Vision Source will distribute OpenConnect Systems' (OCS) terminal emulation products through its extensive network of VARs, dealers, and system integrators. The agreement marks a new emphasis by OpenConnect on an indirect channel in the U.S. market.

OpenConnect's family of terminal emulation products allows PC, Macintosh and UNIX workstation users to emulate IBM terminals and access IBM applications through TCP/IP based networks. Terminal emulation support includes 3270 terminal and 3179G graphics terminal emulation for accessing IBM mainframe applications, and IBM 5250 terminal emulation for accessing IBM AS/400 applications. Operating systems supported include DOS, Windows, Macintosh, UNIX and X-Windows.


Vision Source distributes best-of-class Unix-based, X-Windows and connectivity software from its 18,000 square foot distribution center. Suppliers include such companies as SunSelect, NCD, NetManage, FTP Software, InterCon Systems and OpenConnect Systems.
