VirtualLogix signs licensing and distribution agreement with ISB.
VirtualLogix Inc, a provider of real-time virtualisation technology for mobile handsets, today announced that it has signed a licensing and distribution agreement with ISB Corporation, a Japanese mobile software development company, for the supply of the company's VLX virtualisation software for use in designing smartphones and embedded devices based on ARM platforms.
The company said that ISB offers comprehensive, one-stop engineering services for mobile and embedded devices based on Android and other operating systems.
No financial details relating to the deal were disclosed.
VirtualLogix's VLX MH4.0 includes a fully virtualised version of the Android operating system which isolates the operating system from the mobile handset's peripheral devices and multimedia accelerators and codecs. The company said that by removing direct hardware dependencies, it is easier and faster to integrate on new hardware platforms and to upgrade to new releases of Android. The latest version of VLX support all ARM processors and proprietary real-time operating systems which can be used in conjunction with the Android application environment.
