Virginia Partners Bank has strengthened its commercial banking team with the appointment of two bankers.

Kevin A. Fastabend joins Virginia Partners Bank as senior vice president and will be based in Virginia Partners Bank's Fredericksburg office. With over 35 years' of banking experience, Fastabend was with Virginia Commerce Bank/United Bank from 2006.

Beth Abbott joins Maryland Partners Bank (a division of Virginia Partners Bank) as vice president. She will join the commercial banking team in La Plata, MD. Abbot has several years of lending experience, including 12 years with Mercantile Southern Maryland Bank and then with PNC (NYSE: PNC)

Virginia Partners Bank operates three full-service branches in Fredericksburg and a loan production office in La Plata, MD. A full-service branch is under construction in La Plata, which is set to open in January 2015. Virginia Partners Bank had USD259m in assets at the end of the third quarter of 2014.
