Virgin Group to become first spaceline.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The Virgin Group aims to become the world's first commercial spaceline.

The company has said that it plans to have suborbital flights for space tourists available in 2008, according to Richard Branson. Branson also said that no other companies that aim to offer space travel have made the same progress as the Virgin Galactic venture.

Branson pointed out that a number of companies are offering space travel without having tested and built space ships and without having test flights into space, Reuters reported.

Virgin Galactic is planning to offer space flights for USD200,000. The venture has reportedly received more than 150 firm reservations. Branson also said that he aims to be on the first commercial Virgin Atlantic space flight along with his children and parents.
