Vintage threads for guys and gals; myStyle.

A new vintage store has opened on Tyneside championing style from across the decades. LIZ LAMB showcases their wares.

PALAZZO pant suits from the 20s, 1940s shoes, bags and belts from the fifties and print dresses from the 1970s, no decade is left uncovered at Tyneside's newest vintage store.

Dregs of Society is the brain child of Paula Donaldson and Michael Faulkner, who used to run Junkies Vintage Boutique in Blackfriars, Newcastle, before shutting up shop to sell their vintage finds online.

The pair are now back on the retail scene with a new boutique in Whitley Bay, selling style from the 1920s to the 1970s alongside a selection of vintage furniture.

"We pride ourselves on hunting down individual pieces that are in amazing condition and wearable for folks in their everyday life," explains Paula. "Our shop is bursting with vintage threads for guys and gals with all the accessories to finish of that whole look.

"We like to keep control of our stock and are very discerning, we do not sell clothes just because they have some age they have to have style and desirability. We love the ethics of vintage, the fact that all of these clothes and pieces of furniture could have gone to landfill." Paul adds: "All the beautiful dresses and tailored suits that once graced the dances of their time have been saved and worn once again with pride, making the wearer feel individual knowing that nobody is going to turn up in the same dress, as you get with mass produced high street clothing."

If you love vintage then Dregs of Society is a haven to indulge your passion.
