Villa 'welcome' spells disaster for new boss.

IT was an ominous start for new Aston Villa manager Remi Garde - as the club spelled his name incorrectly in a welcome.

The former Arsenal star was confirmed on the club's website using the hashtag #WelcomeRemy (pictured).

The club, which is bottom of the Premier League, will be hoping that is the end of the mishaps with fixtures against Manchester City and Everton following tonight's match at Spurs.

Unsurprisingly, within minutes the club was quickly the butt of jokes on Twitter.

Harry De Cosemo tweeted: "Aston Villa announce the signing of Chelsea striker Loic Remy on a two-and-ahalf-year deal.

#WelcomeRemy #avfc."

Stuart Chapman tweeted: "We apologise for the fault on the website. Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked have been sacked.

#welcomeremy."
