An exhibition to discuss the regeneration of a city suburb is to be held from Thursday.

Cardiff council's mobile unit is due to roll up near the Albert Street car park, near Tesco in Canton, until Saturday, to discuss the regeneration of the Cowbridge Road East and Leckwith Road area of Riverside.

Environmental consultancy White Young Green Planning has been commissioned by the council to prepare a comprehensive regeneration strategy for the area between Cowbridge Road East, Leckwith Road and Wellington Street.

Residents' ideas and suggestions will be incorporated into final proposals, to be prepared in July and August.

We have been asked to point out by Canton councillor Ramesh Patel that a litter-busting exercise carried out last week took place in the Riverside area of Cardiff, not in Canton as we reported.

Members of the Cardiff Community Safety Partnership and Arson Reduction Team, along with pupils from Kitchener Primary School, took part.

Coun Patel said: 'It was a very successful exercise and we appreciate what neighbouring wards are doing to tackle litter.'
