Viewpoints McDonald's is much cheaper.

I would like to thank Councillor Nigel Howells of Cardiff council for responding to my letter about Winter Wonderland prices.

I was hoping someone would take notice but was shocked when I saw the headline 'Wonderland is good value' but then I realised only a councillor involved with the project would think it is good value.

I agree it is a wonderful attraction but it is definitely not good value.

Perhaps he does not realise the cost of living for families due to the salary he is privileged to earn.

Families earning the basic wage and who have more than one child would not agree it is a good value attraction, especially at Christmas when they are already struggling to buy the extras.

The families I know have to avoid taking their children even to spectate, to avoid them being upset and disappointed when refused expensive food and drink and other attractions.

And as for saying that Winter Wonderland food and drink prices are aligned with other venues in the city centre, the family places such as McDonald's are far cheaper than the caterers contracted to supply food and drink.

I was told by the manager of the catering company used last year that the council charge so much for them to put their catering vans on site that if they didn't charge pounds 3 for a burger they would not make any profit.
