Vienna Insurance Group raises Jan-Sep pre-tax profit in Czech Republic by 5.4% Y/Y.

(ADPnews) - Nov 10, 2010 - Austria's Vienna Insurance Group (WBAG:VIG) said yesterday it raised its pre-tax profit in the Czech Republic by 5.4% year-on-year to EUR 103.7 million (USD 144m) in the first nine months of this year.

In the Czech Republic, the group increased its gross written premiums by an annual 7.6% to EUR 1.3 billion. The non-life insurance generated EUR 759.3 million in premiums in the Czech Republic, while the life segment surged by 27.7% to EUR 530.8 million.

VIG posted a 10.9% year-on-year rise in group pre-tax profit to EUR 377.7 million and an annual premium income rise of 7.1% to EUR 6.5 billion for the first nine months of 2010. The group operates some 50 insurance companies in 23 countries in Europe.
