VideoServer delivers conference management for service providers.

BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 1996--

VideoServer's Conference Capabilities Enable

Operator Attended Videoconferencing Services

VideoServer, Inc. (NASDAQ:VSVR) announced today the availability of a new Conference Management product developed specifically for conferencing service providers. VideoServer's Conference Management for Service Providers will provide telephone carriers and independent multimedia service providers with the necessary tools to improve the quality of conferencing services available to enterprise end users.

"The new Conference Management product that we are providing today is part of VideoServer's comprehensive strategy for delivering superior solutions to the burgeoning service provider marketplace," said Jack O'Neil, vice president of marketing at VideoServer. "Over the next year, end users and service providers will continue to see VideoServer deliver additional capabilities that will make conferencing easier and enable service providers to manage more conferences with fewer personnel."

Conference Management for Service Providers adds a new level of operator assistance that enables immediate feedback to conference participants. Similar to traditional audio conferences, when conference participants connect, they are placed in an operator queue where now they see a welcome screen and hear a greeting message followed by music on hold. Operators then "meet and greet" each participant in the queue and place them into their conference. This user-friendly conference management product will help service providers offer a higher level of quality service to their customers. This week VideoServer will demonstrate the benefits of the Conference Management for Service Providers at the annual TeleCon XVI Conference held at the Anaheim Convention Center (booth #448).

Conference Management for Service Providers is available immediately with VideoServer Multimedia Conference Servers. It is bundled with VideoServer's release 5.1 at no additional charge to customers of the VideoServer Series 2000 Multimedia Conference Server. A hardware module priced at $2,500 must be added to the system to support music on hold.
