TechSmith's two new versions of its Camtasia software enable users who are not multimedia savvy to record and edit sharp video presentations and tutorials. Camtasia Studio 7 ($299, with a 50 percent upgrade price break for current users) comes with free Digital Juice media assets and sequences for adding various background features such as titles. New effects for callouts and cursors are also available. A new editing interface helps users spend Less time on editing and deliver their video content faster for playback on just about any screen size. Also new, Camtasia for Mac 1.1 ($99, free upgrade for current users) lets users record a particular area of the screen and choose the monitor they would want to record from.
