Victories for North duo in Morocco.

TYNESIDE pair Pat McCormack and Calum French were in winning form as the British Lionhearts secured an impressive 4-1 victory over Morocco Atlas Lions in Casablanca to finish top of Group B in the World Series of Boxing.

French defeated Abdellah Boudrar at lightweight (60kg). He quickly came to terms with the 27-year-old Moroccan, a big left early on setting the tone as he repeatedly breached Boudrar's defences to earn another impressive win.

Morocco's Belgian import Anas Messaoudi began slowly against McCormack at welterweight (69kg), the British Olympian looking in total control as he had his opponent on the canvas in the third with a superb right.

However, Messaoudi showed remarkable resolve to come back into the contest and take McCormack to a split decision.
