Victim with no name.

COPS were baffled last night as to the identity of a middle-aged man who was brutally beaten in a Paisley street.

The man is critically ill in Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital with face and body injuries after an incident in the town's Broomlands Street.

He is is in his late 50s, with grey hair, 5ft 10ins tall, stocky build, and wearing a green jacket, brown trousers, suede shoes, and a blue jumper.

Police are treating the attack as attempted murder.
