VETS and pet-lovers raised more than pounds 600 for two animal charities at Mirfield Show.

Donaldson's Vets, based in Queen Street, Mirfield, had a raffle on their stall at this year's show. The raffle raised a total of pounds 620 which has been shared between Yorkshire Rose Dog Rescue and Cats Protection, the former Cats Protection League.

Andrew Arnold, of Donaldson's, said: "Mirfield Show was a huge success and the staff on the stall had a great time. We would like to thank everyone who supported us on the day." * LIFELINE: From left, Elizabeth Radunovic (Donaldson''s receptionist), Sue Tozer (of Yorkshire Rose Dog Rescue), Leah Hirst (Donaldson''s veterinary nurse), Hayley Marsh (of Cats'' Protection) and Rebecca Gunson (Donaldson''s veterinary nurse) handing over the cheques for the animal charities Picture by Paul Welch (PW300812Ccheques-01)
