Provider of communications and IT solutions Verizon Business announced today that customers of the Verizon Financial Network (VFN) can now access on-demand financial trading and data from Fixnetix, a trading and data services company, under a new sales and interconnect agreement between Verizon and Fixnetix.

VFN is a dedicated infrastructure designed to share market data and conduct trading in a scalable, secure, low-latency environment,

Under the terms of the agreement with Fixnetix, financial details of which were not available, Verizon Business customers will be able to leverage their existing infrastructure investments into the VFN to access Fixnetix services, comprising of over 55 financial markets worldwide.

The Verizon Financial Network is designed to facilitate trading and information exchange in global capital markets where trade execution speeds are becoming ever more important. The solution offers financial services firms such as brokers, hedge funds, exchanges and asset managers along with pre- and post-trade services providers a fully managed, highly available, scalable interface to the financial ecosystem.

The Verizon Financial Network is currently available to customers in Europe and across North America.

Verizon Business is a business unit of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) (Nasdaq: VZ).
