Wireless network operator Verizon Wireless (Verizon), a joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) and Vodafone (NYSE:VOD) (LSE:VOD), has expanded its EV-DO network into Flagstaff, Arizona, in the US.
According to Verizon, subscribers in Flagstaff can now use wireless devices such as phones and laptop computers to access its high-speed business and entertainment services.
The network enables Verizon's BroadbandAccess service which offers average access speeds of 400-700kb/s and provides users with full mobile access to corporate information on the move. Users can connect through an integrated option on certain notebook computers, via a PC card for their laptop computer or by connecting a laptop to a BroadbandAccess-capable phone or PDA.
Verizon's subscribers can also use its V CAST wireless broadband multimedia service with their V CAST-capable phone to access music, videos and 3D games on demand, including the V CAST Music library of 1.5m songs. The service provides streaming video clips, music videos, movie trailers, news, weather and sports highlights.
