Verizon Wireless, a US mobile network operator and a joint venture between Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) and Vodafone (NYSE:VOD) (LSE:VOD), has expanded its network with a new cell site in Louisa County, Virginia, USA.

According to the company, the new cell site improves coverage in the town of Mineral and surrounding areas.

The company said it spent USD300m to enhance services and coverage throughout Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland in 2007, bringing total network investment in the region to over USD1.8bn since 2000.
