Verbund to relaunch hydropower plant in Styria.

(ADPnews) - Oct 12, 2009 - Austrian Hydro Power AG (AHP), a subsidiary of local power utility Verbund, plans to relaunch the upgraded hydropower plant Enns-Kraftwerk Hieflau in Gesaeuse, in the province of Styria, in the next few days.

The company invested EUR 75 million (USD 110.5m) for the increase of the plant's capacity by one third. Following the modernisation, the plant will have a capacity of about 100 GWh.

AHP operates 39 hydropower plants in Styria, with an annual capacity of about 2,400 GWh.
