Ventspils municipality to build an innovation center.

The Ventspils city council in northwestern Latvia will borrow 435,000 euros for the construction project of a multifunctional innovation center.

Ventspils city council decided to take a loan from the Treasury for a period of five years. The project should be completed by the first quarter of 2018, and the construction should be carried out from 2018 until 2020.

The multifunctional innovation center in Ventspils will be designed by Lithuanian architects office Ambraso, which has been found the best one in a competition of 15 projects.

According to the information published on the Internet website of the Procurement Supervision Bureau, the project will cost 490,000 euros, excluding VAT.

The multifunctional innovations and science center will have a floor space of more than 6,600 square meters. The innovations center will offer support to new businesses, create new workplaces and house a science center similar to Estonia's Ahhaa center. EU funds will also be attracted to the construction of the center
