Venglos still fit and firing.

Jozef Venglos has been given a clean bill of health to remain in charge of Celtic's own recovery process.

The 63-year-old former Aston Villa manager confirmed this week that he will stay as head coach at least until the end of next season, after claims he would leave Parkhead.

Venglos made it clear yesterday that the uncertainty was based on health reasons and an all-clear from his doctor had been the timely boost which enabled the Slovakian to pledge his future to the Glasgow club.

"All the checks I had were okay," he said. "I'm trying to do my best for a great club."
